Audi TT Mk2

It’s been a while so I thought now it’s finally time to put this blog post together! So the Audi TT Mk2. Not a random choice at all. After having the Mk1 for some time and absolutely loving it, the next natural upgrade was definitely going to be an upgrade of the same car 🙂 yes not all of us like change.  I went for the 2.0 TFSI with 211bhp, yes petrol because diesel is no fun. Updating a classic isn’t easy, but yet Audi have done it very beautifully.

Exterior: I love the shape, the rear isn’t as curvy as it used to be lol but the front is a hell lot better. I’m sorry but the front of the mk1 was hella ugly. I’m definitely feeling the spoiler. It also consists of a button right next to the gears to put the spoiler up and down. All depends on your mood, if you’re feelin gangsta, defo have it up lol. Mine is black. I’m not that fussy with the colour, I’m just not a fan of silver or red. Just like the old TT this one also has the cool fuel cap. I feel like they could have at least provided automatic side mirrors, like c’mon Audi, that’s basic ish, please up your game.

Interior: The interior is sleek! It actually looks a hell lot better than the new cars these days. From all the German cars, I would definitely agree that Audi always kill it everytime with their interior (well on most of their cars), seriously, it’s like high-end furniture in a car. Yes Mercedes have some badass interiors too but the price:luxury ratio ain’t great. And BMW…well… their interior is ugly, sorry. But hey at least their performance  is great. Although the interior looks fleeky, it’s not so gadget-y. I was bound to change the entertainment system. It just wasn’t doing it for me :s but hey at least we have convenient cup holders now, that’s a game changer for sure! lol

I changed the stereo with one from eBay which I purchased for £300 and also fitted in a rear camera. FullSizeRender-2.jpg

It was kind of a hassle but definitely worth it when you have Wifi, Bluetooth, aux, dvd player, sat nav and the whole shiz in your car! Of course the quality of something off the market does not compare to something made by Audi. I wouldn’t say the motherboard is great on this stereo system but overall it’s a good buy and does the job. It’s  an android system so pretty much like a Samsung phone in your dash basically.

My favourite part of the interior without a doubt is the flat bottom steering wheel. I don’t know what it is, but it has a whole different feel of its own. It feels so much more sportier and cooler. My leathers are of course some form of cream/ivory! Yes I’m a sucker for cream interior, it has a much more luxurious feel to it than darker colours. I absolutely hate red interiors and black is just too meh. I would say they’re quite comfortable, well the front two seats anyway. What about the back two? Erm, no comment.

I purchased an automatic, I just had to! Getting too old and lazy to change gears! Trust me guys, when you drive an automatic, you don’t go back lol automatic is pure chill. You eat, drink, put your make up on, just do your thing (actually don’t lol, keep your eye on the road!) the car will do its thing, no need to worry about it rolling down or stalling. Mine has an S-tronic gearbox, which provides the sporty nature of a manual gearbox with the advantages of an automatic. Gear change is much more smoother and  faster. If you wish you could also use the gearshift paddles on the steering wheel, but to be honest I rarely ever reach out for them.

This is a driver’s car. Why do I say this? It’s because the centre dash is tilted towards the driver. And also again the back two seats are non-existent lmao. They could have easily made it bigger as the boot is huge! But nah, defo a 2+2 car. The back seats are for your shopping bags and handbag. So ladies enjoy this car in your youth and before motherhood. Not a family car.

Performance: It performs great, delicate feel and sharp responses, very nippy and smooth. If you want that extra pull, just change to sports gear. It’s a lot of fun 🙂 trust me 😉 The only thing I feel it lacks is the whole Quattro aspect. My old TT was Quattro which means, it doesn’t matter if it’s raining or snowing, it would keep you firmly on the road! As this lacks the Quattro at times it doesn’t feel as secure on slippery roads as my previous car. You could get the Quattro version if you wish, but it’s a hell lot more expensive!

Anyways….I thought I’d keep this short and sweet 🙂 I’m no car expert, just my personal experience, that’s all. Thanks for reading! 🙂
